Because of the donor-donee matching online site GiveLife.ph developed by its Interact Club, the Rotary Club of New Manila Heights was able to bring joy to 15 people in dire need of wheelchairs last April.
The first donation was on April 22 on the medical television program “Salamat Dok,” wherein 10 wheelchairs were given. Presenting the wheelchairs were then club president Joselito Mendoza and past president Elsa Unson, Mabuhay Shriners Philippines administrator Francis Blanco, and Interact Club of Red Cross Youth (RCY) president and online site founder Julia Ongchoco. Also helping to facilitate the donation was “Salamat Dok” regular volunteer Chit Intal of RC Diliman Heights.
The succeeding donations were made on April 24 and April 27 at the District 3780 Rotary Center, with Interactor Ongchoco personally presenting the wheelchairs to the beneficiaries and their relatives.
